Space-Themed Custom Playground Project Case | Spaceship Non-Standard Play Structure for Residential Community

Residential developers are increasingly investing in high-quality children’s play zones to boost property value and resident satisfaction. This finished playground project is located at Luming Yihefu residential community, Yuanhui District, Luohe City, Henan, China. We delivered a full set of custom spaceship-themed non-standard playground equipment together with EPDM safety rubber surfacing, creating an immersive space exploration play area for kids aged 3–12.

Play Structure Details: Spaceship Non-Standard Combined Playground

The centerpiece is a large custom spaceship multi-play unit, designed with futuristic rocket styling in blue, white and yellow accents. It integrates sliding, climbing, crawling and educational interactive games in one integrated multi-level platform system.

1. Frame StructureThe supporting posts adopt hot-dip galvanized steel pipe with electrostatic powder coating. It is anti-rust, UV-resistant and built to withstand long-term outdoor exposure. All welding joints are smoothly polished with rounded edges. Guardrail height and gaps strictly follow international playground safety standards to avoid entrapment risks. The heavy-duty structure supports frequent heavy use for community public play areas.
2. Multi-Type Slide SystemThis unit is equipped with two kinds of slides: transparent acrylic tunnel slide and 304 stainless steel straight slide. The transparent tunnel slide brings a fun immersive “space capsule” sliding experience. The stainless steel slide has a smooth polished surface, excellent wear resistance, high-temperature resistance and fast drainage after rain. Multiple slides allow several children to play simultaneously and reduce waiting time.
3. Climbing & Access SystemIt includes anti-slip stairs, curved climbing ladders, safety handrails, hollow walkways and multi-height viewing platforms. Kids can climb up step by step to the spaceship cockpit and enjoy role-play as astronauts. During climbing activities, children improve physical strength, balance and hand-eye coordination.
4. Interactive Educational Game PanelsMultiple built-in game panels are installed on the play structure, including tic-tac-toe boards, space pattern recognition panels and graphic activity boards. Beyond physical sliding and climbing, these static interactive elements add brain-training fun, catering to different preferences of young children.
5. Themed Decor ComponentsSpaceship wings, tail fins, propellers and porthole decorations are made of engineered plastic and painted panels. Vivid aerospace details strengthen the space exploration theme, and the color finish stays bright and fade-resistant outdoors. It also works as a landscape focal point for the residential community.

Safety Surfacing: Poured-in-Place EPDM Rubber Flooring

The whole play zone uses seamless poured EPDM rubber safety surfacing. We adopted circular runway graphic design with blue, yellow and orange curved patterns to match the spaceship theme. EPDM safety flooring offers outstanding shock absorption to minimize injury risk when children fall. It is anti-slip, permeable and UV stabilized. It maintains stable performance under all weather conditions and serves for a long service life outdoors. The customized ground graphics perfectly match the play equipment and upgrade the whole landscape aesthetic of the community.
